In the world of Eye Center of Northern Colorado, very few things are more exciting than eyeballs. However, each year when fall strikes, there is one exception that becomes more thrilling – The Halloween Eye Ball!
For the past seven years in a row, Eye Center of Northern Colorado has proudly served as the Mummy of all Sponsors (Presenting Sponsor) for this spooktacular event benefiting Ensight Skill Center for Visual Rehabilitation. Perfectly setting the tone for Halloween, this fundraiser is hosted at The Agave Room and incorporates a fun costume contest for all guests that arrive in a costume!
Along with providing funding through sponsorships at events like The Halloween Eye Ball and the Steps 4 Sight 5K, the Eye Center also helps to spread awareness about Ensight’s services.
The Ensight Skill Center is the only nationally accredited agency in the state of Colorado providing comprehensive low-vision services to people who are visually impaired. Their mission is to provide people with low vision the tools, counseling and training that empowers independent and productive living. However, since opening their doors 18 years ago, one of their biggest obstacles has been to spread the word to those in need and educate the communities in Colorado of their offerings.
This is where the Eye Center of Northern Colorado has become a pivotal partner. Their doctors help to spread awareness by educating both their patients and staff members. For patients that cannot be helped medically or surgically, the Eye Center doctors make sure that their patients understand the resources available through Ensight to adapt, learn new skills, seek trainings, tools, and counseling to help adjust to life with loss of vision.
Along with spreading awareness directly to patients, the Eye Center helps to provide educational seminars to the public while also allowing Ensight’s team to come in and educate the Eye Center’s staff directly. One of the leading Ophthalmologists at the Eye Center also sits on the Board of Directors. With all of these efforts combined, Ensight Skill Center feels fortunate to have expert eye care professionals closely located and get to work with such a great group!
