‘Tis the season! The holidays are here, and Horse & Dragon Brewing Company is ready to share the spirit!
Available on weekends beginning Friday, Dec. 7 until Monday, Dec. 24, there will be a volunteer gift-wrapping booth at the brewery with more than 50 choices of wrapping paper! With donated paper, bows and tape, they are ready to serve you to the fullest!
The best part is that the gift wrapping is free, but any optional tips at the booth will be directly donated to Book Trust!
Book Trust is an organization that was started in Fort Collins in 2001 by Adrienne Schatz. Its mission is to empower children from low-income families to choose their own books and build their own libraries. Sponsoring entire classrooms, children can order books with their teachers and then take them home.
“In terms of why we choose to give back — there are so many good and effective efforts going on in Fort Collins and Colorado to try to address some of the need and the long-term problems we face. If we can use our product or our Tasting Room as a gathering place to promote these efforts, we feel lucky,” said Carol Cochran, who founded the brewery in 2014 with her husband Tim.
In addition to their weekend gift-wrapping booth, Horse & Dragon Brewery is also encouraging customers to donate any money they can to a month-end contribution to the Food Bank for Larimer County. When you donate, you get to choose a personalized ornament and hang it on their Tasting Room tree.
“It’s very fun to watch this tree get more and more decorated each day of December,” said Carol.
The gift-wrapping booth is entirely based on volunteers, and if anyone is interested in signing up, here are the slots that are still available:
Saturday, Dec. 8 from 12-3 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 14 from 3-6 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 15 from 12-3 p.m. or 3-6 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 16 from 12-3 p.m.
