Burt’s Logo Apparel: A Family Affair for 35 Years

It’s rare to come across a business that truly embodies the epitome of a family operation. But Burt’s Logo Apparel isn’t your average business – they combine community, quality and customer service to outfit Fort Collins in any kind of branded swag you could dream up.

Burt Nunnelee founded Burt’s Logo Apparel – then Burt’s Shirts – in 1983 as a screen printing company. His first shop was located near College and Laurel, and after a few short years, they relocated to their current location at the intersection of Remington and Mountain. In 1986, Burt’s wife, Mary joined the operation after turning down an opportunity to work with the US Forest Service in Montana.

“I stayed for love,” she joked. “But it worked out pretty well.”

As Burt and Mary grew their business and built community connections, more family members joined the team as well. Burt’s mom, Anna Mae, began working at the shop in 1990, and Jane, Burt’s sister, came aboard as the office manager in 1999. Today, Burt and Mary’s son, Max, has taken on the role of lead graphic designer.

Today, Burt’s Logo Apparel is still going strong as Fort Collins’ top family-owned branded apparel company, specializing in screen printing, embroidery and promotional products. Whether it’s race t-shirts, embroidered ball caps, uniforms, coffee mugs, blankets, shot glasses – you name it! – Burt’s has the presses hot, cranking out printed products so businesses’ logos can walk around town.
