Pathways Announces a New Inpatient Care Center Capital Campaign

Pathways, one of the We R FoCo nonprofit members, has been providing compassionate and comprehensive hospice, palliative, and grief and loss care for over 40 years in northern Colorado. A partnership with the McKee Medical Center in Loveland has allowed the organization to care for hospice patients in our community for a long time. However, with the rapid growth of Fort Collins and the surrounding areas, it has become apparent that this space is no longer able to keep up with the growing need for hospice care. The time has come to build a new Inpatient Care Center!

Pathways is thrilled to announce that they are in the advanced planning stages of this new facility which will be built adjacent to their Fort Collins campus at 305 Carpenter Rd. The Inpatient Care Center will have 12 beds, allowing Pathways to take care of many more patients and families. Each room will be able to accommodate groups of visitors and family members who wish to stay the night. The facility will be a beautiful space designed to evoke images of a Colorado mountain lodge with natural light, stone facades, water elements, and Rocky Mountain landscaping.

Families can prepare meals together in a large communal kitchen or explore the gardens and walkways that blend indoor and outdoor spaces. Even bed-bound patients will be able to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of their bed.

This project will also assist Pathways in recruiting and retaining the best hospice staff, further connect with local colleges and universities to educate the next generation of healthcare professionals, attract more volunteers, provide a peaceful space for families to remember loved ones, and so much more. It is the perfect example of how giving back to the nonprofits in our community has a ripple effect; this new space will impact our families, students, workers, parents, and children.

To help fund the Pathways Inpatient Care Center, the organization is launching a campaign to raise $8 million. Pathways is looking to everyone in the community whose lives they have touched, as well as those who care about having excellent end-of-life care available to our community members.
